Privacy policy

Draft placeholder. This page holds sample wording so that the privacy links on the website work while Convello’s own privacy policy is being prepared. Every section below must be reviewed and replaced with approved wording before the site goes live.

Who we are

Convello provides non-reserved legal services in England and Wales. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. [Placeholder: add the legal entity name, registered address, company number and the contact details of the person responsible for data protection.]

What we collect, and when

When you start a free trial or ask for a price. Both sign-up guides ask for your name, email address and phone number first, and the business guide asks for your company name. We then ask only the questions needed to work out your price: for businesses, the number of active projects, the number of suppliers or subcontractors and the plan you want; for individuals, the type of family law matter and a few questions about it.

When you pay. Card details are entered on Chargebee’s secure payment page, never on this website. We do not see or store your card number. Chargebee sends us a reference for your customer record and subscription so we can link your payment to your enquiry.

When you book an appointment. The day and time you choose are added to your enquiry. Once appointments are booked through Clio Scheduler, Clio will also hold your booking details.

When you contact us. The contact form collects your name, email address, phone number and message.

Company lookup. When a business types its company name, we look it up on the Companies House register to fill in the registration number and registered address.

Why we use your information

We use the details you give us to show you your price, to set up your account and free trial if you go ahead, to arrange your appointment and to answer your enquiry.

If you do not finish signing up. If you give us your details but leave before seeing a price or starting a trial, we keep what you gave us and a member of our team may contact you once, by phone or email, to see whether we can help. [Placeholder: confirm this wording and the lawful basis — it must match what the sign-up guide says on its first screen.]

Marketing. We only send marketing emails or WhatsApp messages if you tick the box asking for them, and you can opt out at any time. We record the date, time and exact wording of any consent you give.

Who we share it with

Chargebee (payments and subscriptions), Clio (appointments and case management), Companies House (company lookup), and the email service that delivers our messages. Each acts on our instructions or under its own privacy policy. [Placeholder: list every processor and where the data is held.]

How long we keep it

[Placeholder: state the retention periods for enquiries that do not become clients, for trial accounts that are cancelled, and for client files.]

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw a consent you have given. To do any of these, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. [Placeholder: add the ICO reference and your complaints process.]

Cookies

[Placeholder: describe the cookies and similar technologies used on the site, including those set by Chargebee’s payment page and any analytics.]
